Internal Club Competitions 2026 / 2027
Each year we run 5 friendly internal club competitions, it's a great opportunity to challenge your skills and share your photographs for constructive critique.
Competition Rules
To enter you must be ..... a club member, the image must be your own, no generative ai, submitted as instructed below, have not been placed in a previous competition and made after September 2024
You may submit up to 3 images per category.
Please note only your first and second images will be judged on the night if we have lots of entries.

Please note only members of the club are eligible to enter images to competitions and critiques.

October 27th 2026 - Wide Aperture
Digital Only Competition – 2 sections Themed and Open
Theme: Wide Aperture – f5.6 and under, f1.8 if you can. Try using analogue lenses, macro photography, long lenses and blurring backgrounds. Practical help will be available.

December 8th 2026 - My Neighbourhood
Digital and Print Competition – 2 sections Themed and Open
Open: Prints
Theme: Digital - My Neighbourhood – Walk / Drive no further than 1 mile and make a photograph about your environment / neighbourhood / community.
Make it something positive. It can be a neighbour, club, nature, architecture, something you admire. Make a photograph and tell us about it.

February 23rd 2027 - The Winter Landscape
Digital and Print Competition – 2 sections Themed and Open
Open: digital
Themed: Prints – The Winter Landscape – photographs made in the winter months expressing the weather, light and feeling of winter. Can be day or night. City, beach or countryside and can include wildlife.

April 27th 2027 - Mono Portraits
Graham Treadwell Mono Print Competition – 2 sections Themed and Open
Theme: Prints - Portraits - Portraits of people or animals. These can include classic portraits, family portraits, street portraits, animals should appear posed as if sitting for a portrait.
Open: digital Mono

June 1st 2027 - Panel Competition
Panel Challenge Competition
Present a panel of 3 – 5 Images
Print or Digital
Any theme, panels can be made in groups, pairs or by individuals
You may present your panels as mounted prints, in a zine or book, in digital format etc.

Howard Evans Trophy for Photograph of the Year
Mounted and framed prints only as per instructions

‘Anything goes’ evening – share any image you have created – NO RULES
Friendly internal club competition and critique with a 'winner'

How to Submit your images for competitions
Competition Rules

How to Submit your digital images
1. resize your images to within 1600px wide for landscapes or 1200px high for portrait and square - 300dpi
2. give your image files a title ie. 1_high tides , 2_sunset (in order of preference)
3. pop your images in a folder with your name and the competition title you are entering i.e Joe Bloggs_ Winter Landscape or Joe Bloggs _ Open
4. send that folder to a1cccompetition@gmail.com with the title of the competition in the subject.
Please ask for help on any club night with resizing or file naming. We're happy to help!
Printed Images
1. Please submit in 400mm x 500mm mount
2. Put your membership number and photograph title on the back (no name)
3. Please also send a digital version to a1cccompetition@gmail.com
Please ask for help with printing and mounting, we are happy to help!
Printing - many members print at home, please ask for advice.

We run mount cutting sessions in the weeks before competition deadlines and through August at Weston Museum
