Celebrating Fox Talbot’s birthday with an evening of pinhole photography

This pinhole image made onto photopaper in a coffee can facing the group as it gathered - exposure about 30 mins pinhole aperture 0.3mm.

The evening kicked off with a presentation on the history and basic theory of the pinhole camera, then a demonstration of processing the paper negative. After the break we tried coffee can pinhole cameras and added pinhole lenses to our digital cameras. We learned how much light is needed to make an image with small pinholes.

here is an example coffee-can image that had multiple flashes and was lit with iphone lights - still needed more light - but the image is quite sharp because of the small pinhole.
